Are you tired of being tired? I sure was!
My name is Leslie Morris and I’m the creator and author of Balance for Busy Families. If you are anything like me you have been searching for ways to take care of yourself and your family in the most natural healthy ways possible. You desire a happy, healthy, natural lifestyle free of synthetic chemicals, processed foods, artificial ingredients and, most of all, a life free of being TIRED!
I have experienced many milestones in my life including the challenges of being a bright child but hampered in school due to having ADHD, earning Bachelor and MBA degrees, working in the corporate world as a single person, experiencing divorce then working as a single mom, overcoming the stress of being a survivor of the 9/11 attacks (I just happened to be in town that day teaching a four hour meeting that day in Tower 2 of the WTC) and then re-married and birthed a second child at nearly 40. After all of this I left the corporate world and started two home based-businesses, became stay at home mom to two ADHD kids (even home-schooled one of them) and volunteered for several of my favorite charities – well I can say I was busy. Very busy and very tired and so was my family.
So I began to work hard to find balance for my busy family. Each and every one of these parts of my life are important; my husband, my kids, my friends, my business ventures, my volunteer and personal passions. But without good health and feeling rested, my success in ALL of these areas was in serious jeopardy. So I began my journey into natural health options and the elimination of toxic chemicals in my home.
The main reason behind starting this blog is because I want to share with you what I’ve learned and what I’ve implemented to achieve balance in my busy family’s life. To share what I do to keep my family healthy and strong without caustic chemicals, synthetic products and processed foods. I hope to help you learn what I’ve learned and to help you take baby steps towards the goal of a happy, healthy, balanced busy family! Don’t try to do it overnight, it is just too overwhelming! I felt that at first, but just began to make one change at a time and they became engrained as a new habit and then another and another. Walk with me in this life journey, let’s take those baby steps together to healthy family life balance!
I’m passionate about helping others live as naturally as possible. Because people like to be part of a group, talk to a person, and bounce ideas off of each other I am hoping we can start a community here. I would love to get to know you. Am I still tired? Yep, sometimes I am, there are just those days. However, I’ve greatly reduced those days by implementing changes in our busy life to address reasons for being so tired such as stress, time management, diet, side-effects of over the counter or prescription drugs, poor sleep habits, exercise and more.
Check back often, I will be blogging on all of these topics. I will blog at least once a week most likely more often as my head is bursting with ideas that just must be written down to share! Because stress is often one of the main reasons for being tired, stress will be the focus of my first blog series.
